What drives us is in our blood
- To promote and be actively engaged in the provision of rural and urban water supplies and environmental sanitation
- To train communities in current health related techniques and assist them in capacity building for sustainability at community level
- To promote overall natural resources management with emphasis on environmental concerns at community level
- To mobilize and disburse funds and other resources for the promotion of water, health and sanitation
Strategies
1. Pre-selection
Reviewing requests against capability of the community- so as to reach the poorest first. Assessing presence of other development actors in the area and possible areas of collaboration
2. Community Development Approaches
Mobilisation Institutional strengthening for CBOs that will implement and manage the projects
3. Health and Hygiene Education
At household and school level by trained village resource persons
4. Water Resource Management
Employing techniques and collaborative approaches with professional individuals and agencies so as to ensure efficient and effective development and management of water sources
5. Partnership collaboration and networking
This is undertaken at all levels (National, Regional , County, and Community). SANA has a strong collaboration with the Government of Kenya through: –
- Active participation in County WASH activities
- Supporting establishment and capacity building WASH Network activities,
- Collaborative Financing of WASH Sector activities
