Local Financing for Sustainable Water and Sanitation Provision In Lake Region of Kenya.

Access to safe water is a number 6 SDG  that aims to address water and sanitation issues not only in  Kenya but the world as a whole.  From this goal, SANA came up with the idea of ensuring and enhancing access to safe water and proper sanitation in the Lake Region of Kenya with focus of Climate Smart Water and Sanitation technologies through secondary Institutions. This, they have managed to carry out through partnership formations with a Northern Development Partner( Aqua for All of the Netherlands), County based partnerships involving county governments, Civil society organizations and a Private Sector Bank.  Through this Project SANA has managed to put up several water points in schools na communities i.e.

1. Kenyenya water Utility supplying Kerongorori sec School and its environs-
2. PITHUR Water and Sanitation Development supplying Thurdibuoro Secondary, Mbugra Secondary and some primary schools as well as the community members around the Schools-Nyakach, Kisumu.
3. Left Bank Water Utility supplying, Ogilo Sec. school, Orera Sec school, Kowidi Sec. School- kabondo, Homabay.
4. KOTABWANGO – construction is still underway with the drilling and test pumping already done, Nyakach, Kisumu.
